(Continued from Part One)

For example, consider what former Congressman Kurt Weldon argued about a couple of weeks ago in an interview with Tucker Carlson. He had been the highly respected Deputy Chair of the House Armed Services Committee until he started asking awkward questions about 9/11. The FBI raided his daughter’s home, although she was strangely never interviewed or charged. The headlines were enough to shift his long record of landslide wins into the loss of his seat in Congress. At the time, four independent sources told him that Bin Laden was not in Afghanistan or Iraq but happily flying his extremely valuable falcons (see Feathered Cocaine) around in a village called Ladiz in Iran. So, young American troops were busting a gut and losing limbs to IEDs trying to find him in Afghanistan and Iraq when it was already known that he was perfectly safe in Iran. What was he doing living unperturbed in Iran with playing with his prized falcons? Weldon says the US intelligence services made a deal with Qasem Soleimani, the then-head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and a key architect of Iran’s policies in Syria and throughout the Middle East. The deal was to protect Bin Laden. Weldon notes that at least two of the hijackers were on the CIA payroll. Weldon implies that the US government assassinated Soleimani in 2020, not because he was America’s opponent, but because he was America’s ally. He had collaborated with the US to shield Bin Laden even as the US launched a massive manhunt for him and wars across the region. Americans make jokes about people in the Middle East and across India, Pakistan, and China being conspiracy theorists, but what is coming to light is almost impossible for most Americans to face. The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming. It begs the question: Are we as blinded as a hunting falcon?

Further DOGE findings at the Orwellian-named Institute of Peace add to this picture. Some $55m they had received from Congress went into a private account, where it was spent on private jets, the rental of Caesar’s Palace and other immense stadiums for parties, and $130,000 for “generic services” to a member of the Taliban. Elon Musk called this fraud “in flagrante delicto.” After a while of seeing these payments, Musk says, “you just get numb.”

But it was the stashes of weapons and loaded guns at the Institute of Peace that caught my attention. If we want to understand how the US is both chasing terrorists and paying them serious hard cash, we have to look at what’s happening inside the US. The US intel community has clearly split into factions. Some factions are Democrat or Republican. Some are not politically aligned. They are true to whichever…
