The Hot Minute War (Part One)
The Israel/Iran War may last about a hot minute before it comes to an end. It could go either way – in a very big bang, literally. One that sobers the world up. Alternatively, it could result in a deal that allows the world to proceed with significantly reduced superpower and regional power hostilities.
Israel’s version of that option is called Samson’s Choice. Iran’s version might involve sleeper cells with dirty bombs rather than missile-launched nukes. Both are ugly. Either way, whoever resorts to a WMD will be committing suicide. Public opinion will turn on them. The environment will become toxic, and all discussions currently underway will cease. Nobody wants to ponder or face this scenario. That’s no doubt why Tulsi Gabbard, the ODNI, was suddenly at The Hiroshima Peace Memorial (interesting timing) saying we are “closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before” perhaps because they will have access to nuclear shelters” so “we must work toward a world where no one has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust”. Much hangs on the fact that she just told Congress that Iran did not have a deliverable nuke. Israel’s story is that Iran was just days away from a nuke with a kilotonage that would have dwarfed Hiroshima. Will we ever know?
Meanwhile, the American hawks are bidding up the tension, trying to shout down the Trump doves. On June 13th Mike Pompeo, the former Head of the CIA, told Fox News we should now “expect” sleeper cell terror attacks. I remain hopeful that the human response to all this will be to negotiate rather than obliterate. Whoever agrees to the deal will not only be given something of what they want but also the opportunity to save face, re-join the world economy, and get back to getting rich before getting old. This is why offers and promises are being made right now. Exit routes are being established and taken. To understand what’s in play, we need real situational awareness. The media is not providing that because the media remains captured by their reliance on advertising dollars from big pharma and big food, both of which lean toward trashing Trump no matter what he says or does. But, Trump is taking them on, too, as we will see.
So, here’s a different survey of the war and its most important battle zones – Iran, Israel, the King’s Day Movement, corporate America, and the Deep State. These are all deeply intertwined with each other and with Rising Lion, Israel’s attack on Iran, and Spiderweb, Ukraine’s attack on Russia. The situation now takes on a different meaning than many had thought. Rather than this being the start of a protracted conflict, it may be a very short one precisely because so much is at stake.
