I’m the opposite of a war hawk who is advising that the West agree to negotiate.

Thanks for the book reference on escalation. The readers of this site should also be aware, or made aware, that "ecalation or de-escalation" is NOT something that arm-chair democracy handles (ie. we the public have zero input into the escalation climb or de-escalation step down). Daniel Ellsberg has come on Democracy Now many times to state that the state of mind of the FEW around the top military-civilian nexus around the president, at most 5-6 people (AT MOST), decide the whole thing. And Ellsberg has documented, and repeated the same on DemocracyNow that often times these 5-6 or fewer, have seriously delusional thinking.

Your post here describes the DC neocon mood as "let's hit this puny guy" "no way will we lose" etc etc.....This is not encouraging to say the least. I have very very very little respect left for our military industrial complex decision structure based on the outward TV view of it (which itself is a cunning and top-serving, and dumbed down view, so i could be wrong, i HOPE i'm wrong).

If the ultimate weapon that China and Russia can use against the west is to cut the electricity, is going tp EV's a good policy?

Dr P please check out Dr John Schindlers tweeter feed today for a completely unique view of the Russian invasion: “Putin’s attack on Ukraine is a Religious War”. Very curious what you think of this!

Dr P, do you think Putin might be trying to manipulate the stock market? With sanctions applied many of the largest Russian companies will trade at a fraction of their '21 value. This gives Putin and his circle the opportunity to 'short' the market and profit handsomely from the situation.

The billionaires got mad & spasmodic because they don't know that we CAN escape extinction: Earth lasers' plasma shield not only can dissolve storms (Univ. of Geneva), but it CAN prevent a devastating global blackout/all nuclear plants' blasting by asteroid explosion (as in Tunguska-1908 & Chelyabinsk-2013) or a solar storm hit! ELEVEN times near-miss extinction so far: 1972, 1989, 1991, 2003, 2006, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 https://GlobalBlackoutPrevention.wordpress.com

Despite the West still having a lot of Russian 'cold war warriors' who dont want to speak to Russia's real concerns - what hope do we have on the West listening to China......where are our experts who can interpret Beijing's real aim vs its Wolf Warrior exterior? Uk agencies publically harp on about Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Taiwan and they are correct these are serious issues but its shows dramatic immaturity from the supposed 'experts' that they repeatedly make these issues the headline as now China is not listening. And such Western apparatchiks, I am told, wont get promoted if they wanted to 'be soft' & talk to China about its real problems......we need new people who can 'jaw-jaw' not just 'war war'.

Yesterday there were headlines like"Highly Pathogenic Bird Flu Found as Virus Spreads to New York", "Marathon’s Huge Louisiana Refinery Rocked by Explosion, Fire". Today we are seeing widespread internet outages hitting major backbone of the US internet taking sites like github offline. Are these the types of things you would expect from hybrid warfare?

Dr. P, are you willing to share how you position your portfolio for these risks? Not asking about specific investments, just wondering how you overcome the risk of markets going dark for some period of time. Do you hold physical cash, gold? Does this influence your willingness to hold equities? TY for your articles. Terrifically informational.

Great article, Dr. Pippa. The cyberattack threat you are outlining here, has been repetedly addressed by Powell himself (in Apr. and Dec. 21 FOMC remarks), as well as by the World Economic Forum, which sponsored a couple of simulations to foresee how the world would cope with these kind of attacks. To the uneducated mind, it would seem as if these war games represent a convenient justification to launch a pre-planned cyberattack, which would serve supra-national objectives (such as a reset of an unsustainable world fanancial system...). If not, how would you reconcile the fact that the attack could at the same time serve both national and supra-national purposes?

Hi Dr Pippa, if the grid was to be shut down temporarily in the West, would this be bearish or bullish for BTC?

As much as I value your information, which is remarkably prescient time and again, it is so disheartening to continue to read the details of the problems that we face as a nation, if not as a civilization. Please don't stop writing.

My bad. I misjudged. I'm gone. I don't need one more opinion feed from an administration parrot and war hawk. Belarus has not been taken over. It was and remains a member of Russia's security plan. Can anyone in the military-industrial complex provide a coherent rationale for why any American should risk their life for Ukraine? I didn't think so.....
