Hi all, I just want to tell you how much I appreciated your support during my first year on Substack. It’s an extraordinary platform, and I am enjoying interacting with you on it. It’s time to go behind the paywall. As one friend put it, “you’ve been working for tips” which is true. I will continue to write at about my current pace, which is one big edgy think piece a week that should give you lots to noodle on and links to explore. I’m working towards launching my Podcast series. These will be a combination of my own commentary and conversations with people whose ideas are moving the world economy. Thanks again! Pippa

I’ve always enjoyed reading your articles and I thought they were good for informing the public to make informed decisions and a public service. However, it’s becoming a mania among Substack contributors to move behind paywalls and the average reader just can’t afford it. I’m sorry to see you go and I’ll miss your insights.
You need to add a direct call to action...tell the readers directly what they need to do: "Given the amount of time I'm spending, and the behind-the-scenes access I give my readers, I need to be remunerated for my time. Please click below to upgrade to my paid columns. I may not always deliver something every week, but I promise when I do it will be worth your time and money." Consider adding a CTA...seriously.
