Happy New Year all! Next time someone says, there won’t be any new jobs, don’t say “bull shi*”. Just say “mushrooms” (some of which grow most happily on bull shi*). Mushrooms are a whole new sector in the economy.
I knew about the radiation eating mushroom. In fact this was "suggested" as a potential shielding material for a space mission in order to block out the suns radiation. The issue was it would have been several metres thick of a shielding :D
I found another interesting use of mushrooms - music. Musical artist MycoLoco introduces himself on https://mycolyco.bandcamp.com/ : “I grow gourmet mushrooms and connect them to synthesizers.” Fungal music!
