I'm not sure mandated reductions in energy from traditional sources is a gift ... are you aware of what is going on in Europe right now? Nat gas at dangerously low levels. Magical thinking does not make intermittent power sources provide reliable energy, and without reliable energy the economy goes into the toilet

Dr Pippa, I fear Weston is right. Long term benefits there may be, but the short term costs are high and rising and will have many negative ramifications. As has been often said, timing is everything in life, and mandated reductions in fossil fuel exploration may be occurring at the wrong time of the technological cycle.
